Dr. Idrisa Abdul-Hamid is the Founder, President and CEO of Phoenix Rise Global Group with thirty-four years of experience in leadership consulting, business coaching, leadership development, executive strategic planning, team building, workforce development, leadership assessments, employee surveys, data analyses, and motivational speaking. Dr. Hamid also serves as an Assistant Professor at Temple University and teaches graduate courses at the Klein College of Media and Communication.
Dr. Hamid's vast knowledge and expertise served in the following roles as Senior Director of Operations, People, and Culture for Temple University's Hope Center. Regional Operation Manager for ESS managing twenty-seven school districts in North Jersey focused on human capital accountability solutions, and Senior Manager of Organizational Development, Onboarding, and Office of Substitutes for Houston Independent School District. Dr. Hamid's prior work experience includes four years of healthcare management for Aetna, Inc, and thirteen years in banking, financial investments, and insurance for MetLife, New York Life, and Citizens Bank. Additionally, Dr. Hamid brings eleven years of experience in teaching adult learning principles in leadership coaching, organizational development, management development, and employee engagement strategies in both secondary and tertiary education.
Dr. Hamid's research interest and focuses are on effective leadership, strategic planning, cross-cultural leadership, leadership assessments, change management, and employee engagement strategies.
Dr. Hamid received her Doctor of Business Administration in Leadership from Walden University, Master's of Science in Global and International Education from Drexel University, and Bachelor's in Business Administration in Marketing from Temple University. Notably, Dr. Hamid is a civic and business graduate of The Center for Houston's Future Think Tank, a professional member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and Honor's Inductee of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Dr. Hamid is best known for her community work and attentiveness in helping people in need. She is a patient companion for two hospice organizations and a policy member for two mental health organizations advocating for basic human needs in care, protection, policy and changing public perception. Dr. Hamid also dedicates her time and efforts in professional associations and volunteer commissions for African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC), Universal Muslim Business Association (UMBA), Temple University's Innovation and Entrepreneur Institute (IEI) Mentor, SBA SCORE Mentor, POWER Women Leadership Association Executive, Silver Life member for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), active Alumna of Walden University, Drexel University, and Temple University. Additionally, Dr. Hamid financially invests as a Benefactor for the National Association for Mental Illness (NAMI), Supporter for the National Institute of Mental Health Institute (NIMH), Donor for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), serves as a Partner in Hope for St. Jude Children's Hospital and is an active volunteer for Dress for Success Organization, Brookdale Hospice, and Grace Healthcare. Dr. Hamid contests her passion in life is helping people discover their greatness.
