I had the pleasure of meeting Idrisa while working at the Houston Independent School District.  I explained my concerns for a department that I inherited.  After explaining my concerns to her, she coached me in the following ways. After listening to me and others on my team, Idrisa scheduled targeted events strategically to help build my team culturally so that we all could learn how to work together as a team. Idrisa focused all of us on how to do our part toward reaching and achieving our departmental goals. Clearly, her targeted developmental exercises informed us about the importance of knowing the differences between each employee and how, by knowing those differences, we could embrace them as we work together.
